The Reverend Jeremy Vaccaro PDF Print E-mail

Pastor for Youth and Families

I grew up in Central California, near a little town called Woodlake. My parents still live in our house, which is surrounded by an orange grove (not ours). No sidewalks. No block parties. As a kid, I spent a lot of time either on my bike or working with the animals around the ranch.

I'm married to Diane, a wonderful woman. Let's face it ... she's beautiful! I fell in love with the way we laughed together, her love for ministry, her love for music, her passion for Jesus, and her honesty. We were blessed with our first child, Katelyn Jeannette, on September 11, 2002. She's a darling little girl, big sister to Andrew Jeremy, born on April 14, 2004, and Rebekah Joy, born February 7, 2006. Diane has the privilege of being the household executive administrator.

My parents recently retired; Dad was a school superintendent for 30 years, mom was a teacher for 40 years. I am the youngest of four boys, so I learned how to work for the things I wanted. My parents are still actively involved at the wonderful small town church where I was raised and nurtured in the faith, Woodlake Presbyterian Church.

After college I worked on Young Life staff in California for four years before attending Fuller Theological Seminary. As I was finishing seminary, God made it clear to us that I was supposed to be in the local church. By God’s grace, I landed at Chapel Hill.

My job at Chapel Hill is Senior Associate Pastor. I serve as second in command to Pastor Mark Toone, and work closely with him in strategizing, planning, etc. I also oversee ministries to all of our young people from birth to high school and their families.

We have a great team in place and so many wonderful ministries that are helping families mature in Christ … I love this job! I also often get to lead in worship at the 10:57 service, and I’ve really enjoyed introducing the congregation to songs that God has put in my heart.
