OUR TASK FORCE SPEAKS

Task Force co-chairs Bob Beilke, John Long, and Rosemary Lukens offer the following summary of their recent deliberative experience:

October 10, 2007

James writes, "Every good and perfect gift comes from above…" We repeatedly thanked our Father in heaven for the privilege of serving Christ as co-chairs to the Congregational Task Force, not only because of the great work produced but because each of us were profoundly blessed. One never knows at the outset of such an endeavor the commitment level of participants, if the groups will gel, or if consensus will emerge. Each of us found a high level of commitment in our teams, mutual respect, and the Holy Spirit speaking through each team member. We are deeply grateful for the humble, prayerful, and thoughtful work they offered as their service to Christ. In the end, our recommendations to Session were affirmed by all.

The congregation will receive Session’s response to our work in the near future. We eagerly await the congregation’s review, discussion, and affirmation—hopefully—of the recommendations. Our experiences with the Task Force remind us of Christ’s unending love and commitment to us as individuals and His Church at Chapel Hill. To Him we are grateful and to Him we give all praise.
