Lance Brown, Minister of Care and Renewal, will oversee operation of the lay counseling ministry, making sure counselor/counselee relationships are working well for both sides.
At some point in our lives all of us need to talk with someone who can help us sort out the puzzle pieces of life. It may be “big issue” like a marital struggle, a life threatening illness, the loss of a loved one, etc. It might be a “small issue” like a frustration with children, spouse, stress or a spiritual struggle – but all of us need to talk to someone we can trust. For this reason CHC offers well trained, compassionate, highly skilled lay counselors who would love to meet with you and provide encouragement, direction, and support. Their training is Christ-based and Chapel Hill-based, working within our value and faith structures. They will support you spiritually and point you towards hope and wholeness. Chapel Hill Church lay counselors can also connect you with Chapel Hill ministries and programs that could be helpful in your journey. One of our greatest concerns is creating a safe and confidential place for you to work through life’s issues. Great attention is paid to complete confidentiality and anonymity to those who are receiving counseling in the program. This ministry is not just for those in advanced states of crisis. Hopefully this ministry will allow people to deal with little issues before they have a chance to become big ones.
There will generally be a limit of eight sessions per person(s), though that can be extended per counselor recommendation. Appointments: Weekdays, Noon—9pm at Chapel Hill. Contact Stacia at 853.0279 or the receptionist at 851.7779.
There will be no charge for this service.
