Abundance Sunday
Chapel Hill collects donations of clothing, socks, travel size hygiene items, and other specific items on the first Sunday of every month, then distributes them to various ministries in our community and around the world. Volunteers are needed to:

  • Pass out donation wish lists on the last Sunday of each month after each service at the Resource Center
  • Help pick up and monitor donations on the first Sunday of the month during all services

Christians Concerned for Burma
Based in Chiang Mai, Thailand, CCB serves the needs of Burmese refugees in Thailand and assists internally displaced persons within Burma. Volunteers are needed to:

  • Assist with special events such as our annual Day of Prayer for Burma and Run for Relief—Burma events
  • Provide hospitality for missionaries from Thailand/Burma

KAIROS
Twice a year, this group sponsors three-day retreats to bring Christ into the lives of inmates.
Volunteers are needed:

  • To help bake thousands of homemade cookies for each retreat.
  • Also, young artists are needed to decorate bags for the cookies.

Medical Teams International
Providing disaster aid and crisis relief overseas, this organization seeks to be the hands of Christ. They also staff local vans that provide dental care to those in our own cities who cannot afford care. Volunteers can apply to serve:

  • As dental professionals, providing care to local people in need through the MTI mobile dental unit program
  • On disaster response teams overseas
  • On short-term mission trips with Chapel Hill

Purdy Prison Ministries
Volunteers are needed to minister to the women at the Washington Correctional Center for Women through:

  • Sunday evening worship services
  • Dress for Sucess Clothing Closet
  • Saturday Mother/Child play day
  • Thanksgiving Desserts
  • Sorting Abundance Sunday Clothes

Tacoma Street Ministries
A ministry providing food, warm clothes, hygiene items and a friendship to the homeless in Tacoma. You can volunteer to:

  • Provide resources such as blankets, socks, hygiene items, or specific food items
  • Join others in serving the homeless on Friday nights. A larger group of Chapel Hill volunteers serve every third Friday of the month.
