Tuesday in Villa Hortencia
Greetings from Guatemala! Today was another day full of God’s provision, faithfulness and love. This morning we read (1 Corinthians 13:1-3, 1 Cor. 9:20-22, 1 John 4:7-12) about God’s unconditional love for us and how we can love others with the love the God has so graciously showered on us.
After another beautiful drive to the village, we spent the morning at the school (K-6). This was a time for us to learn about the school and engage in relationship with the students and teachers. We also had the opportunity to perform a skit on the parable of the sower. We talked about how God’s word to us is like seeds and we want God’s seeds in our lives to be planted in good soil (Matthew 13:3-9).
After lunch, we were able to visit with a couple of families from the community and met the newest member of the village a 3 day old baby. After wrapping up our afternoon in the village, we hiked up to a cave that was used as a hiding place and shelter for some of the families from Villa Hortencia Uno during the war. We have been so blessed to see God at work in our midst. It has been an honor and privilege to witness the work that the Lord is doing in Villa Hortencia Uno.
Thanks for your prayers! We continue to ask for prayers for restored health, energy and the Holy Spirit to fill us up, guide us and direct our paths!
