Life in Community at Chapel Hill
Larry and I were introduced to life in community at Chapel Hill in the middle of the summer during a weekend spent kayaking, on porches, and even taking in an outdoor concert at the church. So I look forward so much to these days when we all get together outside, reconnecting after a few months inside. Before you keep reading, get out your planner, and save these dates! I look forward to seeing you out and about.
SATURDAY, JUNE 6: Gig Harbor Parade and Celebrate Recovery Rummage Sale—We know many of you will already be representing or cheering on the many groups you are a part of in the community. We have room for 1-2 more families to walk with the Hillbillies and give away Children’s Ministry items to the crowd. Email Kathy Berry if you want to join us! And on your way home, drop by the church for the Celebrate Recovery Rummage Sale from 9:00am-3:00pm.
SUNDAY, JUNE 7: First Step—Our next membership class opportunity will be after second service from 12-3:00pm, with lunch and childcare provided. This is the class to be a part of if you want to be baptized during the Harbor Baptism on Sunday, August 30! To register for First Step, email Carole Hughes.
SATURDAY, JUNE 13: Multiply—Our second class for LifeGroup leaders will be on Saturday, June 13. (While this is primarily an indoor event, if it’s pretty we will make the most of it!) We have a few more spots, so please register with Carole Hughes if you are a LifeGroup leader or would like to receive this training.
MONDAY–FRIDAY, JUNE 22-26: Everest Day Camp—There is still time to register and participate in our annual children’s ministry extravaganza! Join us as we introduce children to Jesus and enjoy all of God’s fun and creativity for a week. Contact Pam Gatto with questions or fill out a registration form and return it to Children’s Ministry.
SUNDAY, JUNE 28: Annual Rainiers’ Game—Come sing the National Anthem as one big chorus of at least 100 Chapel Hill voices! All ages and vocal ability welcome and celebrated. Tickets are $12 each and include hot dog and chips. Buy your tickets at the Connect Center or online.
Finally, get out and love your neighbors! Help someone who is out there weeding their front yard. Ask your neighbor for tips on smoking salmon. Send your kids out to ride bikes with the kids at the end of the cul-de-sac. You could just be meeting friends for a lifetime. Join us as we meet out and go out into all the world with the love, joy and celebration of Jesus.
See you out there,
Pastor Megan
