Saturday nights…here we go!
This Saturday at 6:30pm we launch our new worship service in the Memorial Chapel. We are obviously excited about this new venture, but more importantly, you seem to be excited about it, too. I can’t tell you the number of people who have stopped me and said, “We are in for Saturday! We’ve been waiting for something like this.” A contractor, a golfing friend, a coffee shop employee, a car dealer… all are planning on making Saturday night their Sabbath at Chapel Hill.
Why are we doing this? Because, for lots of folks and lots of reasons, Sunday just doesn’t work. But it’s more than that. We are talking about a “little church in a big church” experience. The setting is more intimate, the worship style will be more relaxed… it will just feel more “small,” and we think that will bless many. Finally, this will be a different type of worship experience—“experiential,” it’s called. It’s not easy to explain. You need to… well… experience it!
We started posting video announcements about the service on Facebook. I wouldn’t say it’s gone viral… but there is a lot of interest. All of that is to say, this Saturday night will be an epic moment in our church’s life. Please, pray for us as we seek to make a new difference for the kingdom. And please… invite someone to give it a try! Woo hoo… here we go!
