The Thailand Journey Continues
We arrived in Thailand on Friday, and we were still on our way to Laytongku on Sunday. It’s one of the interesting things about partnering with ministries in remote locations. Sometimes the journey feels just as long as our time in the destination. This is very true of our partnership with the village of Laytongku on the Thai/Burma border. We will be in the village for four days, but it takes about four days to get there from Seattle. One might ask if the four day journey is worth it. And I would say that our team would all give a resounding, “Yes!” Because the journey to Laytongku almost feels like a pilgrimage. Along the way, we visited friends, fellowship with the church in Mae La Refugee Camp (Pastor Megan preached this morning!), we have partners and friends join our team along the way, we solidify plans for our ministry week, and we have so, so much fun getting to have this shared experience together. As we travel to Laytongku, our team’s love for this captivating part of God’s world grows and deepens. We get to see a different vantage point of Jesus as we look at him through the eyes of our Thai and Karen friends. We are bleary eyed and jetlagged, but blissfully happy. And the journey continues. I know I speak for the rest of the team when I say, “I can’t see what’s going to happen next!”
