The Big Tease
Three weeks ago in this blog, I told you that you would not want to miss worship the following weekend; that we were going to be sharing some exciting but bittersweet news that you would not want to hear second-hand. I told you that the Session was prepared to reveal to you a key, long-term strategy that is the perfect combination of all three of our Beyond These Walls initiatives: Making Disciples, Sending Leaders, and Loving Your Neighbors. And I told you that this would represent a significant change among our pastoral leadership team.
It was the ultimate cliffhanger! Emails were bouncing back and forth, the Chapel Hill grapevine was buzzing, everyone was speculating what this news could be. We prepared for a full house on that weekend—and then—and then, Snowmageddon! The worst five days of snow that I can remember since I’ve been here. We even cancelled church! The Big Reveal got buried in two feet of snow.
Well—we are ready to try one more time. This weekend at all three services we are going to share some very exciting news. It will impact our church for decades to come. And so far as I can tell, there is no snow in the forecast! So, I do hope you will come. This is something that we’ve been thinking about, praying for and anticipating for a very long time. And as I’ve said before, you won’t want to hear this second-hand!
I’ll see you this weekend…and bring a friend!
