Christmas greetings
Merry Christmas! I hope you were able to attend one of our five Christmas Eve services over the past couple of days and I pray you’re able to enjoy today as well. It’s one of the most important birthdays we Christians celebrate!
Because your day is likely filled with all the things that make Christmas so special, I don’t want to keep you. Just let me remind you about a few important things coming up.
First, we are only having ONE service tomorrow, December 26, and it will be at 10:00 am. We will offer kids’ worship and childcare for birth-pre-K as usual during the worship hour.
Then we will do it all again with the same schedule the following Sunday, January 2. And be sure to come ready to commission and pray for Pastors Megan and Larry, as Larry will be focusing full-time on the Chapel Hill Port Orchard church plant in 2022. Megan and Larry will preach during the service, and as a special treat, both our Gig Harbor and Port Orchard congregations will be worshipping together in Gig Harbor too! We will join Pastors Larry and Megan immediately following the service for a reception in Gathering Place in their honor.
I also want to invite you to make this send-off extra special as they open the doors of their own home to others with the hospitality you’d expect from the Hackmans…they have wanted to remodel their kitchen and we thought it would be wonderful to help them in that endeavor. So if you can, as a “thank-you” gift to Larry and Megan, please consider bringing a cash or check donation toward that remodel to the reception; we will have a special place where you can leave it. (Please make out checks to Larry or Megan Hackman.)
In the meantime, enjoy your Christmas, and we’ll see you at church!
