Support Groups
We offer free support groups for adults going through difficult circumstances such as the death of a loved one, divorce, cancer treatment, healing from trauma, parenting children with mental health challenges, becoming a new mother, and young adults overcoming challenges. Each group has a unique schedule.
- Cancer Care is a support group for women going through cancer…all types and all stages. Cancer Care meets year-round with the exception of December and August. Sorry, no childcare available. Thursdays, 3:30-5:00 pm, in the Fireside Room at Door A near Rosedale. Learn more
- GriefShare is a support group for anyone experiencing grief and loss of significant relationships. Sundays, September 8-November 17, 2024, 10:30 am-noon (with exceptions), room 114. There are limited spots available. Learn more
- DivorceCare welcomes and guides people on the path of recovery after separation or divorce. Wednesdays, September 25-December 18, 2024, 6:30-8:00 pm, in the third-floor Conference Room (also called the Board Room). Learn more and register here
- Faith & Finances is a financial education ministry for people who a) are just starting out learning how to manage money; b) don’t have a lot of extra money to spare; c) want to overcome financial obstacles; d) want to save more and pay off debt. Wednesdays, September 11-November 13 2024, 6:30-8:00 pm, and runs for 10 weeks in the Prayer Chapel near the Sanctuary. There is a financial incentive for every week the participant attends with a completed assignment. - Fierce Love is an eight-week group to provide support for young moms (especially moms of preschoolers) to speak openly and safely about the challenges of motherhood during this season of their lives. Tuesdays, September 24-November 12, 9:30-11:00 am, in the Prayer Chapel. Childcare available for babies-PreK. Register here.
Lay Counseling
Chapel Hill offers lay counseling for individuals, couples who plan to marry, couples who are already married, and families. Lay counseling is provided for anyone experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, or other life challenges. Learn more
