Help Us Finish the Year Strong!

Help Us Finish the Year Strong!

By Senior Pastor Ellis White

Dear Chapel Hill Family,

As we embrace this season of gratitude and anticipation, our hearts overflow with thankfulness for you, our Chapel Hill family. Your generosity throughout this past year has been extraordinary. Because of your faithful giving, we’ve made a tangible difference—locally and globally—by living out our vision to care, share, and prepare.

Care:
Your giving has allowed us, together, to care for our community with mercy and compassion. Here are just a few examples:

  • Single parents in Gig Harbor have food on the table and encouragement through the new FISH Food Bank, supported by our giving and service.
  • A family now has an affordable, livable home for their foster kids, supported by our Beyond These Walls fund.
  • The Tacoma Rescue Mission, supported by our giving, expanded to triple capacity with new mattresses and pillows.
  • In 2024, through our lay counseling ministry, 19 lay counselors provided 715 sessions, supporting 96 individuals.
  • Our support groups, focusing on shared experiences like cancer, grief, divorce, and young motherhood, offer safe, nurturing environments for healing and connection.

Share:
Your giving fuels our collective ministries that share the gospel and help others discover new life in Jesus.

  • Alpha has created a safe space for skeptics and seekers to explore faith. This year, lives have been transformed as people found hope, joy, and community in Jesus, including a woman who went from attending Alpha to joining a LifeGroup, reading the Bible, and serving in the church.
  • Your giving has expanded Alpha’s reach. In 2024, we supported the launch of Alpha at four other churches and will host another community-focused Alpha in May 2025, partnering with local churches to reach those with questions or church wounds.
  • In a Thai prison and a Haitian home, through our global outreach partners, people have been loved and learned to love God.
  • Skeptics and spiritual seekers in eight cities across the U.S. now have faith communities that welcome them because of our commitment to plant churches through our Beyond These Walls fund.
  • More than 1,600 people heard the good news at our GLOW Christmas experiences this month…where several young people gave their lives to Jesus!

Prepare:
Together, we’re equipping the next generation to live on mission for Jesus.

  • Last year, we offered an evening parenting course with 250 participants, followed by small groups on parenting topics.
  • A one-day grandparenting seminar equipped almost 100 attendees with tools to make a greater spiritual impact on their families.
  • Our Children’s Ministry continues to reach families every week on Sundays and Wednesdays, with the love and hope of Jesus, including several families who have come back to church after being gone for some time.
  • Our Middle School Ministry and High School Ministry, which seek to mobilize the next generation, are increasingly reaching more students with the gospel of Jesus Christ, growing in size from last year to this.

These incredible stories of transformation are made possible by your faithful giving, which continues to sustain and expand our ministry efforts. Thanks to your generosity, our giving through November has been tracking slightly ahead of budgeted levels, and we are so grateful for your faithfulness.

December is always a critical month as we prepare for a strong finish to the year, with much of our annual giving typically arriving in the final weeks. Early indications suggest we may be slightly behind pace this December, but we are confident that, together, we can meet this important goal and position our ministry for a vibrant 2025.

Would you prayerfully consider making a special year-end gift today to help us finish strong and continue making an eternal impact?

To include your donations on your 2024 giving statement, please ensure they are postmarked by Tuesday, December 31. You may also bring your gift to the church office by Tuesday, December 24, or place it in the locked drop box outside Door D by December 31. (Note: The church office will be closed from December 25 through January 1.)

You may also give online at this link.

Our year-end giving sustains the ministry we’ve shared and propels us toward the opportunities God has for us in 2025. There’s no limit to the life-changing work of the Spirit in a broken world. Every gift given in Jesus’ name testifies to his goodness and power.

Looking ahead, we’re excited for what’s to come. In January, we’ll begin a sermon series on marriage, love, and relationships, exploring God’s vision for these sacred connections. We’ll relaunch Alpha and introduce new discipleship resources to deepen our faith journeys. 2025 promises to be an exciting year.

Thank you for being a vital part of this church family. May the joy of Christ fill your hearts and homes this Christmas and in the year ahead.

Blessings,

Pastor Ellis
