Gather here.
Do you remember the first time you felt able to truly be yourself in church: questions, pain and rough edges included? For me that place was my first experience of Alpha 20 years ago. It’s the first place it felt okay to share my spiritual doubts, my theological questions and my real-life, real-time hurt. In fact, it was more than okay, it was encouraged! Alpha was a significant place for me on my journey of experiencing belonging in church community, of bringing my whole self to Jesus, and learning to passionately follow him with all that I am. Over the years Alpha has continued to be a place where I can bring others to discover that for themselves. There is no greater joy than witnessing somebody else discover Jesus is alive and he loves them!
Fast forward 20 years and Alpha is still a safe place, a place of belonging, and a place where people find Jesus. I’m so delighted that we are just a week away from launching our fall Alpha. I hope you will join us in prayer, invitation and service. Pray for those coming to explore faith, doubts and tricky questions. Invite those who wouldn’t call themselves believers or haven’t been to church in a while. Got questions yourself? Come as you are and find a safe place to be real. Or if you can give up just one Wednesday evening this fall to bring dessert, serve our guests, or sit and pray at the prayer table, you too can share first-hand in the joy of witnessing others discover Jesus matters.
We launch on Wednesday, September 27, at 6:30 pm at Chapel Hill. Sign up here.
