Elders
Bret Francesconi
I am married to Britta, and we have two sons, JJ and John. I serve as an elementary school counselor in Tacoma, where I love supporting kids. Our family enjoys attending Chapel Hill, being part of youth ministries like MSM and HSM, and participating in LifeGroups.
For the past 18 years…17 as a member…my faith has flourished at Chapel Hill. It was here that I first experienced true Christian fellowship, was encouraged to read the Bible cover to cover, followed Nicky and Pippa Gumbel’s “Bible in a Year” plan, and led a LifeGroup for nine years. Now, I am honored to be recommended to serve on Session. I accept this role with humility and a desire to grow in faith as I serve our church.
Tom Gray
I was one of seven children raised in the Presbyterian Church by loving parents. I made my profession of faith as a teenager in Oklahoma City. After college, I married the love of my life, Cyndee, and we have two grown children and five grandchildren.
Throughout my career, first in the Navy and later in the Energy Industry, we moved frequently but remained active in our church communities through Bible study, youth programs, and various projects. Since moving to Gig Harbor in 2012, we have called Chapel Hill home. I’ve been involved in small groups, men’s ministry trips, and community outreach. I previously served as an Elder and was on the Senior Pastor Search Committee. My time at Chapel Hill has strengthened my faith, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve again. I pray that God will use my gifts for His glory.
Deacons
John Aune
Nancy and I have been married for 52 years, and we are blessed with two daughters and two grandsons. We moved to Gig Harbor 22 years ago, and Chapel Hill has been our church home for the past eight years. My faith has grown stronger over the years, and I can’t imagine life without the Lord.
At Chapel Hill, I’ve been active in LifeGroups, led a LifeGroup for six years, participated in Alpha, served as a greeter, and been involved with Bible Study Fellowship and Habitat for Humanity. Most recently, I’ve served with the Care for Widows work team, where I felt God calling me to serve more directly. I am honored to take on this role and look forward to serving the Lord and our church.
Carole Curry
I became a member of Chapel Hill in 1994. Though I moved away for a time, Chapel Hill always remained close to my heart, and I was grateful to return in June 2023.
I spent my career in Special Education and tutoring children with dyslexia. I have two children and five grandchildren.
At Chapel Hill, I enjoy volunteering with Alpha, participating in Cornerstones, and serving in the Benevolence ministry. I am honored to be part of God’s work at Chapel Hill and excited to serve in this new role.
Ron Parrish
I look forward to serving as a Deacon, especially in visitation ministry. My wife, Denise, has served in this role for the past three years, and we have made numerous visits together when a man’s presence was needed or when a couple’s visit was appropriate. Through this, I’ve gained an understanding of what this calling entails.
I was blessed to grow up in a Christian home, deepening my relationship with Jesus through Sunday School, worship, Young Life, and Bible studies. Denise and I have been married for 50 years, and church has always been the foundation of our lives. I have served in leadership roles, church councils, and praise teams. Now, I am eager to minister through visitation and prayer, knowing this will continue to strengthen my walk with Christ.
