I am married to Britta, and we have two sons, JJ and John. I serve as an elementary school counselor in Tacoma, where I love supporting kids. Our family enjoys attending Chapel Hill, being part of youth ministries like MSM and HSM, and participating in LifeGroups.
For the past 18 years…17 as a member…my faith has flourished at Chapel Hill. It was here that I first experienced true Christian fellowship, was encouraged to read the Bible cover to cover, followed Nicky and Pippa Gumbel’s “Bible in a Year” plan, and led a LifeGroup for nine years. Now, I am honored to be recommended to serve on Session. I accept this role with humility and a desire to grow in faith as I serve our church.

I was one of seven children raised in the Presbyterian Church by loving parents. I made my profession of faith as a teenager in Oklahoma City. After college, I married the love of my life, Cyndee, and we have two grown children and five grandchildren.
Throughout my career, first in the Navy and later in the Energy Industry, we moved frequently but remained active in our church communities through Bible study, youth programs, and various projects. Since moving to Gig Harbor in 2012, we have called Chapel Hill home. I’ve been involved in small groups, men’s ministry trips, and community outreach. I previously served as an Elder and was on the Senior Pastor Search Committee. My time at Chapel Hill has strengthened my faith, and I am humbled by the opportunity to serve again. I pray that God will use my gifts for His glory.
