Beyond These Walls in Haiti
Today we definitely felt like we were praising God Beyond Walls!
After a bumpy (that’s putting it mildly) ride from Thiotte to Pichon and then up to the “Cascades,” we encountered one of the most beautiful waterfalls I have ever seen! It was a series of water cascading from very high up and then down a mountainside. We (and many children!) hiked partway up the hill to get closer to the falls and pools. We came back down to a large pool area where other children were swimming and had our church service. Imagine the spray of a mighty waterfall, the lush mountainside vegetation, and the sound of singing Lord Prepare Me To Be Sanctuary and How Great is Our God being raised up in both English and Haitian Creole, praising God for His magnificent Creation! We then prayed collectively, meaning we were all praying at the same time! It was a sweet, sweet sound to the Lord!
Then we continued our journey part way down to Pichon where we had the privilege to witness the graduation of about forty-five pastors who had graduated from World Relief’s Transformation Tree curriculum which empowers them to help the Haitian people become aware of how to help themselves with whatever resources they have.
