Shiver me timbers; Day Camp is setting sail!
In just a few hours hundreds of kids from our community and beyond will fill these halls with laughter and song as they seek adventure at Shipwrecked Day Camp. Over five days, kids will learn that “Jesus rescues”… from loneliness, worry, struggle, wrong-doing, and powerlessness. This teaching will take place as kids play games, experiment, experience interactive Bible stories, eat snacks, and hear stories of faith from kids their age. A special thank you to all of the volunteers that will make these life-giving revelations possible. It’s not too late to sign up or invite friends! Registration is available after all services this weekend, and you can find more info online.
After day camp, beginning next Sunday, July 1, Family Worship Month kicks off. Statistics show that children whose families worship together and talk about their faith at home are much more likely to embrace and continue personal faith as adults. To make Family Worship Month a success for everyone, our pastoral and worship teams will include family-friendly elements in these July services, including kid-friendly songs, shorter sermons, and worship packets of quiet activities that your kids can take home.
Bringing up godly kids is a wonderful responsibility we all share in the body of Christ. Thank you, Chapel Hill family, for making an extra effort in July to make younger worshipers and their families feel especially welcome.

A P.S. from Pastor Mark
Hello Chapel Hill. I wanted to share with you some exciting church family news. Our daughter Rachel just received and accepted a call to be the Dean of Spiritual Formation at Montreat College near beautiful Asheville, North Carolina. In essence, she will be the pastor to that campus but she will also have the opportunity to teach undergraduate classes and provide pastoral support to a nearby EPC church, the home of Ruth Graham, Billy Graham’s late wife. Her ordination to that call will be held here at Chapel Hill on Sunday, August 12, at 6:00 pm. More news to follow…but thanks for all you did to help raise and launch “our” daughter into pastoral ministry.
