Welcome Home!
Whether you are a member, a regular, or one of the many, many visitors that joined us this summer, you are warmly invited to “Welcome Home” weekend as we launch our new program year. I will begin a sermon series on Jonah titled “Reckless Love.” Our choir will be back for the 9:00 am service. And you will see a few exciting changes at our modern services, as well.
But “Welcome Home” is about more than our three great worship services. You will discover a very different look and feel in our foyer area on Sunday and in the area right outside the chapel on Saturday. Kids will surely spot the bouncy houses on the way in from the parking lots on Sunday, and there will be plenty of fun family games on Saturday as well.
After each service, I hope you’ll make the time to enjoy some particularly scrumptious treats: on Saturday there will be free ice cream (donations are appreciated to help us cover the costs!), special, free coffee from one of our ministry partners, Coffee Oasis both days, and, for the first time on Sunday, a food truck featuring delectables for purchase including chicken, waffles and hamburgers…the three food groups!
All of this fun is really a way of encouraging you to hang around, talk and familiarize yourself with a few of our key, spotlight ministries. For the first time, we will be moving all of our mid-week activities to one night: Wednesdays. Whether you are attending Alpha, Youth Alpha, Celebrate Recovery, or The Landing, or bringing your middle schoolers to our spectacular “Extreme” or your younger children to Celebration Place, you can grab a bite to eat and dive in and check out the next thing that God intends for your own spiritual growth.
I will even have some exciting (and surprising) news to share about this summer; I know you’ll be pleased.
I’m glad to be back “home” and I hope to welcome you this weekend as we launch our new program year!
