Ride for Refugees

Ride for Refugees

Jul 8, 2023 at 10:00 AM

Show God's welcome and hope to refugees and asylees forced to flee their homes due to persecution.

Ride, walk, run or pledge--all our gifts go straight to our local partner World Relief to wrap around families with housing assistance, transportation, English language classes, job skills training, and emergency relief.

Chapel Hill will make a donation for every mile you complete to advocate for those seeking refuge!

Event Details:

Wilkinson Farm Park

4118 Rosedale St NW, Gig Harbor, WA 98335

10:00 am meet-up, 11:00 am refreshments together

*Park in the lot at the park at Chapel Hill Church, 7700 Skansie Avenue

**Some may wish to ride/run/walk in a different location...that's great too, just share your pictures and advocacy stories with us!

Chapel Hill's Lane Macleod has offered free basic bike maintenance checks in preparation for the Ride for Refugees. Bring your bikes to his shop during regular hours or he can open early on July 8 before the ride if you contact him directly. Visit Spider's Bike, Ski & Tennis Lab online here. Telephone: 206.408.7474.

Pray with us!

  • For healing for families fleeing strife abroad such as from Afghanistan, Ukraine and Haiti, many of whom have come through arduous journeys and experienced much loss and trauma
  • For God to provide housing, employment and essentials to those who are resettling
  • For World Relief staff and programs to be effective and embody the hope of Christ to our newest neighbors
  • For Refugee Youth Summer Academy to meet children and teens where they at, with language help, learning experiences and supportive social environment as they adjust to life in the US and prepare for the school year
