Stay Humble | Philippians 2:1-11 | Chapel Hill Church Gig Harbor

✨📖 We are in a farewell series on Philippians, my favorite New Testament letter. The Philippian church was dear to Paul, much like you are to Pastor Mark. Despite being his ‘sweetheart’ church, they had issues of disunity and discord.

🕊️ Paul encourages unity: “Let your life be worthy of the gospel, standing firm in one spirit and mind.” Unity is precious and worth striving for.

🤝 To maintain unity, Paul advises: “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit.” Instead, be humble, valuing others above yourself.

💡 Humility is key. Not thinking less of yourself, but thinking of yourself less. This trait was revolutionary, considered a virtue by Jesus despite being seen as a flaw in the Greco-Roman world.

🧠 True humility means serving others and not seeking empty glory. It helps us avoid pride, the root of many sins and pastoral downfalls.

🙏 Paul’s advice: “Have the mind of Christ, who emptied himself and took the form of a servant.” By embracing humility, we honor Jesus and foster unity.

🌟 Stay humble, Chapel Hill. Embrace humility, elevate others, and live lives of service and love. Let’s be known for our humility and unity, honoring our Lord Jesus.
